Abby Farmer Wright Endowed Scholarship
Abby Farmer Wright played women’s soccer for MSU Billings from 1997-2001. She was the starting forward on the Yellowjacket squad and team captain in 1998, 1999, and 2001. Abby was named to the inaugural MSU Billings Women’s Soccer All-Decade Team (1996-2005) and was inducted into the MSU Billings Athletic Hall of Fame, February 2008. In honor of Abby and her outstanding accomplishments, her parents, Ken and Karen Farmer, established the Abby Farmer Wright Scholarship Endowment in July 2008. The endowment will provide scholarship assistance to women or men Yellowjacket soccer players. The first scholarship was awarded for academic year 2009-2010.
Impact
“I would like to thank you for sponsoring the Abby Farmer Wright Endowed Scholarship. Education is extremely important to me and this scholarship will help me fulfill my goal of earning a college degree and relieve some of the financial burden on my family. I am attending Montana State University Billings because it has everything I want in a school. It is a school where I get to participate in a competitive soccer program (because soccer is one of my passions) and receive a quality education. While I do not know exactly what the future holds in terms of a career path, I do know I will find it at MSU Billings. For now I will give back as much as possible to MSUB and the city of Billings for giving me these opportunities to enrich my future. Thank you again for awarding me this scholarship.” — Liliana D., Health & Human Performance major with a Performance option
