Jean King Rahn, Annetta Nielsen, Grace Leuthold -- PEO Chapter E Endowed Scholarship

Jean King Rahn was an active member of PEO Chapter E. She left a bequest to MSU Billings Foundation to establish the Jean King Rahn Memorial – PEO Chapter E Scholarship Endowment fund (first scholarship awarded in academic year 1986-1987), combined with Annetta Nielsen/Grace Leuthold in 2018. Annetta Nielsen passed away June 20, 1999, at age 93. She was an active member of Chapter E PEO and had served as president. Annetta left a bequest to Chapter E PEO which, in turn, established a scholarship endowment in her name for students attending MSU Billings. On May 22, 2003, another long-time member of Chapter E PEO, Grace Leuthold, passed away at age 90. In honor of Grace and her service to the organization, the chapter added her name to the endowment. Her hope and intent was to provide financial support to deserving students. This scholarship fund is a fitting way to continue her interest and support of PEO. The first scholarship was awarded in academic year 2001-2002.

Impact

“Thank you so much for awarding me the Annetta Nielsen/Grace Leuthold – PEO Chapter E Endowed Scholarship. This scholarship will allow me to continue my studies at MSU Billings and make me one step closer to my goal of getting my doctorate. Attending MSU Billings has become one of the best decisions I’ve made. I moved here from California after I got my associates degree. The community has been a fantastic change and I enjoy the mix of city living with country atmosphere. At the university I have found the campus to be open and friendly and the teachers here are committed to furthering the education of their students through encouragement. Again, thank you for awarding me this scholarship. I hope to make MSUB proud of my future accomplishments.” — Jennifer P., Biology major
