Bart Bauer Endowed Scholarship for Men's Basketball
Bart Bauer was a gifted Yellowjacket basketball player, a member of the MSU Billings Athletics Hall of Fame, and one of the top-ten all time scorers (even without the availability of three-pointers when Bart played). Bart exemplified achievement, grace under pressure, and team contribution. In honor of Bart and his exceptional natural athletic talent, the Bart Bauer Endowed Scholarship for Men’s Basketball was established in 2008. The scholarship is awarded to Yellowjacket men who display all the qualities which Bart Bauer displayed during his MSU Billings career and who also demonstrate the requisite financial need for assistance. The first scholarship was awarded in academic year 2009-2010.
Impact
“I appreciate what you are doing, and this money will go to helping me with my education… I chose to come to MSU Billings because it is a great school, and I had the opportunity to continue my basketball career and that was something I could not pass up. My future plans as of right now are to find a teaching job in the next three years and hopefully get a coaching job in basketball. I want to coach because of the passion I have for basketball. Thank you again for selecting me.” – Kendall D., Health and Human Performance major with a Teaching option
