Brynn and Kara McDonald Endowed Scholarship
In support of MSU Billings and the students it serves, in recognition of the gifts of others, and in an effort to encourage others to generously support MSU Billings, Deborah V. McDonald established the Brynn and Kara McDonald Endowed Scholarship Fund in honor of her two daughters, Brynn and Kara. As a longtime supporter of MSU Billings Foundation, education and giving back to the community have been priorities to Deborah and her family for many years. Scholarships awarded from this fund will provide assistance to incoming freshmen with financial hardship. The first scholarship was awarded in academic year 2008-2009.
Impact
“I would like to thank you for the Brynn & Kara McDonald Scholarship at Montana State University Billings. I live with my mother who is disabled. My father, who is also disabled, lives out of state and does not contribute to our household at this time. I chose to attend MSU Billings because of the teaching program. I plan to be a Chemistry teacher when I graduate. I have had many inspirational science teachers through my life and found that this is what I would like to be when I grow up. I also love to work with students because they are the future. It is extremely important to me that students don’t dread going to their science classes and I hope I will be that inspiration for them to keep going. I would like to thank you again for your generosity and the wonderful opportunity to excel in my dreams and aspirations.” — Alexis W., Chemistry major
