Charles Beardsley Undergraduate Endowed Scholarships

Charles Beardsley Undergraduate Endowed Scholarships

Charles Philip Beardsley entered Eastern Montana Normal School (now MSU Billings) in 1928. He was elected class president and was the first male graduate of EMNS in 1929. Charles believed that providing scholarship funds for the study of art, music, and Native Indian culture and history would allow students a means to improve their and others lives. Charles passed away January 1, 2002. In order to honor Charles, his life’s work as an educator, artist, writer, poet, historian, musician, counselor and real estate developer; to recognize his dedication to Montana State University Billings and its students; and in compliance with the wishes of Charles, the Charles Beardsley Undergraduate Scholarship Endowment Fund was established in 2003 from a distribution from his charitable bequest. Earnings from the endowment provide educational scholarships for students studying Art, Music, or Native American Studies at MSU Billings. This scholarship was first awarded in academic year 2004-2005.
