Curt Kochner Endowed Scholarship for Student Leaders

Curt Kochner Endowed Scholarship for Student Leaders

For over 20 years, Curt Kochner served in a variety of roles in Student Affairs at MSU Billings ranging from the Student Union, Housing, Advising, and finally as the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs. In all of these roles, Curt played a significant role in supporting student leadership and development. He was a strong advocate for student organizations and continually promoted opportunities for students to becoming actively involved in leadership positions. He created an environment where student input, ideas, and engagement were encouraged in all aspects of the university. As a tribute to Curt, many student leaders who were influenced by his passion and went on to work in student affairs or higher education created a scholarship to honor Curt when he retired. The scholarship is dedicated to the work Curt did on behalf of student leaders and honors a student who exemplified the type of student leader for whom Curt advocated. The first scholarship was awarded in academic year 2009-2010.
