Denny and Diane Duin
The Opportunity Scholarship for College of Allied Health Professions was established by Denny and Diane Duin during the Opportunity Campaign for MSU Billings Scholarships. As non-traditional students raising a high-school age daughter, the Duins were not financially positioned to pay for their own college expenses. In order to make ends meet, they took out student loans and worked full-time. The outcome was worth their struggles. Now they want to “pay back” and assist students at MSU Billings who have challenges similar to theirs. The first scholarship was awarded in academic year 2012-2013.
Impact
“I would like to thank you for your generous contribution to MSU Billings and for allowing me to be an awardee of the Opportunity Scholarship for College of Allied Health Professions. Being a single mother with children and trying to do graduate school while working a full-time job has been interesting. Making the decision to do a Master’s degree was a difficult one but once I made the commitment to myself, there was no turning back. I really appreciate the opportunity to be able to attend MSU Billings. Thank you for giving back and allowing me to move forward with my dreams.” — Jennifer M., Health Administration major
