Dr. Rolf Groseth Endowed Scholarship

Dr. Rolf Groseth Endowed Scholarship

To honor retired Chancellor Rolf Groseth, the proceeds from the “Heads or Tails” lot of the live auction at the 2014 Wine and Food Festival created the Dr. Rolf Groseth Scholarship Endowment. Dr. Groseth spent over 36 years with the Montana University System, with the last four as the successful chancellor at MSU Billings. Over his exemplary tenure at MSU Billings, he completed the institution’s 2013-2018 strategic plan; aided in the completion of the Foundation’s Opportunity Campaign for Scholarships, which infused $7 million dollars into student scholarships; and received a $10 million appropriation from the last Montana legislative session for the expansion and renovation of Yellowstone Hall, the new teaching and research facility for science and allied health. Dr. Groseth retired May 3, 2014, following commencement exercises for MSU Billings. This scholarship endowment links Rolf’s passion for education to scholarship aid for the students who meant so much to him during his career. The first scholarship was awarded in academic year 2016-2017.

Impact

“I am an in-state fully online student who is constantly struggling to find innovative ways to pay for school. The granting of this scholarship has made an incredible difference in my life as well as my family’s. It means more than I can express. Thank you again for so generously supporting Montana students.” — Ashley H., Business Administration with Accounting Option major
