Exchange Clubs of Billings Healing Field Endowed Scholarship
In 2010 the Exchange Clubs of Billings brought Montana’s first Healing Field to Billings. The following year, on the 10th anniversary of 9/11, the Exchange Clubs teamed up with MSU Billings to again bring a Healing Field to Billings, aligning with the construction of the 9/11 Memorial located at the City College at MSU Billings. With the funds raised through donations while the Healing Field was on display, this scholarship was established. The Exchange Clubs of Billings wanted to establish a long lasting endowment to honor those who have served their country and communities, and especially to honor those lost on 9/11 and in its related wars. The scholarship aims to help an individual who is committing their lives to the service of others. The first scholarship was awarded in academic year 2013-2014.
Impact
“I am so grateful for the educational opportunity that receiving the Exchange Clubs of Billings Healing Field Endowed Scholarship has given me. I plan on furthering my education by studying with the Fire Science program the City College in Billings has to offer. With this scholarship, I know I won’t have to worry so much about working for a living, but rather making sure I am living up to my highest potential while earning an education. Thank you for such an opportunity.” — Lily E., Fire Science major
