Guthals Family Endowed Scholarship
Joel Guthals developed a relationship with Eastern Montana College (now MSU Billings) when he moved to Billings, Montana, in 1976 to practice law. Initially, he taught business law courses as an adjunct professor. He was impressed with the hardworking students and the University’s commitment to developing partnerships with community organizations and businesses to improve educational opportunities for students. Both Joel, and his wife, Ann, are very committed to trying to improve their community and the institutions that serve the community. As generous philanthropists, Joel and Ann established the Guthals Family Scholarship Endowment in 2004. The scholarship will provide tuition assistance for generations of deserving students who plan to teach. The first scholarship was awarded in academic year 2011-2012.
