Heisey Foundation Scholarships

Heisey Foundation Scholarships

Charles E. Heisey (1863-1939), a Great Falls, Montana, wholesale grocery distributor stipulated in his Will the creation of the Heisey Foundation. The Trustees of the Heisey Foundation have established a series of scholarships to be given annually to students from North Central Montana who are attending college within a specific demographic region. The intention in creating this geographical limitation is to put money back into the territory where it was originally earned by Mr. Heisey, for whom the Foundation is named. The first scholarships to Montana State University Billings students were awarded in academic year 1996-1997.

Impact

“I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your support of students from North Central Montana who are attending college. The Heisey Foundation Scholarship I have been granted will help me to continue my education. Balancing everything in my life can be quite the challenge, but I’m determined to complete my degree. Obtaining my Associate of Applied Science in Accounting was rewarding. Completing my Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with the Accounting option will be even more rewarding. My goal is to open more doors to advance with my employer with this degree. Again, thank you for the scholarship. Your generosity is very much appreciated and is a great help toward my continued education.” — Jennifer B., Accounting major
