Jane Buttrey Memorial Scholarship
As a memorial to his mother, Ted and Ruth Buttrey established the Jane Buttrey Memorial Scholarship fund in 1982. They both took great pleasure in the knowledge that they would be able to provide financial assistance to young people who might otherwise be unable to continue their education. Ted Buttrey passed away September 10, 1982. The first scholarship was awarded in academic year 1983-1984.
Impact
“I cannot fully express my gratitude and enthusiasm in being awarded this honor. It is opportunities like this which urge me to strive for excellence, and I have you to thank for that. This scholarship will be of huge importance to me and will help me be a mother, student, and an active member of the community, all at the same time. Without the financial help I am getting from you, I would not be able to continue my education.” – Miglena I., Psychiatric Rehabilitation & Psychology double majors
