Jim and DeeDee Jussila Art Scholarship
Jim and DeeDee Jussila’s daughter, Jill Jussila, was a Fine Arts graduate of MSU Billings. Jill’s journey began in art but when faced with the question of “what will you do with an art degree”, she had doubts and switched her major. She was then undecided and actually considered not finishing school. During this period of time, Jill realized that to study something one loves is a key part of a quest for higher education. She switched back to art, was happy, and grew as a student but most importantly as a person. Her creativity, confidence, and beauty came through. It is Jim and DeeDee Jussila’s hope that the Jim and DeeDee Jussila Art Scholarship will help another student find their way to accomplish their goal in something that they love to do. The first scholarship was awarded for academic year 2013-2014.
Impact
“I am writing to express my sincere appreciation to you for making the Jim and DeeDee Jussila Art Scholarship possible. I was overjoyed to learn of my selection for this honor and I am deeply thankful of your support. I can assure you I will work very hard and eventually give something back to others, both as a future gallery owner and possibly a scholarship to future students like myself.” — Meliah B., Fine Arts major
