Julie and Shaun Seedhouse
Julie Seedhouse holds a B.S. in English Education and an M.S. in Public Relations from MSU Billings, along with an M.S. in Technical Communications from Montana Tech. After dedicating 16 years to teaching high school English, she transitioned into higher education administration, where she served as Director of Alumni Relations at MSUB and later as Vice President for Advancement at Rocky Mountain College. In 2013, Julie began a new chapter in real estate with Century 21 Hometown Brokers, where she has built a thriving and fulfilling career.
Shaun Seedhouse holds a B.S. in Business from Montana Tech and an M.S. in Financial Services from the College of Financial Planning in Bryn Mar, PA. He has been a Wealth Advisor and Certified Financial Planner for Thrivent Financial for 24 years and has built his practice in partnering with his clients to help them reach their goals and dreams.
Strong believers in giving back to the community they call home, Julie and Shaun invest their time, resources, and energy into making Billings a better place, whether it’s helping clients (who often become friends), or supporting local organizations through volunteerism and advocacy.
One of the causes closest to Julie’s heart is her service on the College of Education Petitions and Appeals Committee at MSU Billings. There, she has been moved by the stories of students who display extraordinary perseverance and determination but fall just short of completing their degrees due to financial constraints.
To address this need, Julie and Shaun created the Seedhouse Family Endowment scholarship. The scholarship is designed to support students in the College of Education in the fields of Math and English Education who have reached the final year of their program but have run out of financial aid. To be eligible, students must be in good academic standing and on track for teacher licensure.
At MSU Billings, students entering the teacher preparation program embark on a transformative journey. Over four years, they grow academically and personally engaging in rigorous coursework, exploring educational philosophy, and developing the practical skills needed to shape future generations. The culmination of this journey is student teaching—a time when theory meets practice in real classrooms. But for many students, especially those who are parents or managing tight budgets, this critical phase also brings extra expenses: childcare, reliable transportation, and time away from paid work. These barriers can feel insurmountable, arriving just as students are about to cross the finish line.
This is where the Seedhouse Family Endowment scholarship makes a powerful difference. Longtime champions of education, Julie and Shaun are committed to ensuring that future educators are not held back by financial hardship—especially not when they’re on the cusp of changing lives through teaching
