Max Newlin
Max Newlin earned his radiology degree from MSU Billings in 2012 where he graduated with honors. He was employed at Billings Clinic for 7 years and especially enjoyed working in surgery. Max acted as a liaison for students in the radiology program and would often take them under his wing to help them with what they were learning. Max was passionate about patient care and always treated everyone with the utmost respect. He carried a contagious, upbeat attitude with him wherever he went and in whatever he did. He was zealous about life and living it to the fullest. He was a certified deep sea scuba diver and loved motorcycle stunting, backpacking in the mountains, jet skiing, and anything that got his adrenaline pumping. The Max Newlin Rad Tech Rockstar Endowed Scholarship was established to celebrate a life lived “to the max," as he passed away in a motorcycle accident in 2018. His parents Eddy and Cheryl, along with his sister Kelsie, wish to carry on Max’s legacy of helping students who exemplify a rockstar attitude on their path towards a career as a rad tech. The first award will be given in 2020.
