MSU Billings Retiree Endowed Scholarship
In 2005, the Retiree Reunion Luncheon Committee decided to kick-off a fund drive to establish the MSU Billings Retiree Scholarship Endowment. Committee members asked MSU Billings/Eastern Montana College retirees to support future generations of leaders, teachers, directors, scientists, health care providers, etc. by making a contribution to the scholarship fund. The scholarship endowment fund provides financial assistance to worthy undergraduate students, with preference given to students who are related to retired employees of MSU Billings or Eastern Montana College. The first scholarship was awarded in academic year 2005-2006.
Impact
“Thank you for choosing me as a recipient of the MSU Billings Retiree Endowed Scholarship at Montana State University Billings. I am honored to be chosen for this scholarship. So far, my time at City College has been incredible. I have been able to juggle work, home life, and school while maintaining a high GPA. This GPA attributed to my acceptance into the LPN program. Since the program started, I have had to cut back on hours at work to keep up with the workload. Unfortunately, the bills still need to be paid, so finances have been tight, which has been stressful on my family. This scholarship will help me give more of my attention to the LPN program. Again, I thank you for giving me the help I needed to achieve my goals. I’m excited to lean the skills I need to become a valued nurse in this community.” — Brianne L., Nursing major
