Rocky Mountain Bank Endowed Scholarship

Rocky Mountain Bank Endowed Scholarship

Rocky Mountain Bank, with branches located in Billings, Bigfork, Plains, Stevensville, Whitehall, Bozeman, and Plentywood, sees its community contributions as investments. In 2005 during the People, Pride and Promise Campaign for MSU Billings, Rocky Mountain Bank made a gift to MSU Billings to support student scholarships. Danny T. Skarda, then President and CEO of Rocky Mountain Bank, commented on the banks philosophy in the communities they serve. “We believe strongly in giving back to the communities where we do business. Tuition increases are one of the many challenges that prevent students from starting college or completing their degrees, so it is our pleasure to establish a scholarship in Rocky Mountain Bank’s name. Higher education creates greater earning potential and that benefits all of us economically,” Skarda said. The first scholarship was awarded in academic year 2006-2007.

Impact

“Thank you for the Rocky Mountain Bank Endowed Scholarship… I am very fortunate to have the GI Bill to count on, but living expenses can be overwhelming with three kids. So far, I have been able to juggle school and a part-time job during the day. This scholarship helps me continue to successfully balance my life… Thank you Rocky Mountain Bank! Students really do need help, and thanks to people in our community like you, we are able to continue our education.”
