Rust Family Endowed Scholarship

Rust Family Endowed Scholarship

In 1973 Dan Rust attended Eastern Montana College (now MSU Billings) to pursue a business degree to eventually open his own business. Dan competed on the basketball floor and in the classroom for four years and graduated with a B.S. degree in business and even a greater knowledge of competition and getting along to better prepare him for the business world. Today he owns his own State Farm Insurance Agency in Bozeman, Montana. Dan’s daughter, Breeanne, became a student athlete at MSU Billings in 1997. She graduated in 2002 with an accounting degree and is a comptroller for a company in Fort Collins, Colorado. It is Dan and Bertie’s hope that the Rust Family Scholarship Endowment will help prepare others for the business world, as Eastern and MSU Billings has for Dan and Breeanne. The first scholarship was awarded in academic year 2009-2010.

Impact

“Thank you so much for your generosity in awarding me the Rust Family Endowed Scholarship. I intend on studying marketing at MSUB in hopes of becoming a Marketing Research Analyst someday in a large city. I chose MSUB because it truly seems like the best fit for me. I am so very excited to begin my new journey. This scholarship will really help me with expenses. Thank you so much for this opportunity, it is greatly appreciated.” — Shayla F., Business Administration major with a Marketing option
