Scheels Honors Scholarship

The purpose of this annual scholarship is to provide encouragement and financial support to degree-seeking students who desire an MSU Billings education. The scholarship is designed to attract outstanding students from regional high schools to MSU Billings as Honor Scholars.

The Cornings (long-time business and philanthropic leaders in Billings) and Peter Philippi (Business leader at Billings Scheels Store Leader) are looking to encourage a new generation of community-invested local talent to lead our community forward. After preliminary discussion with Foundation leaders, the Cornings and Peter were introduced to the University’s Honors Program Director and Provost. Following collaborative discussion, Benefactors have committed to fund the Scheels Honors Scholarship to support MSU Billings civically minded Honors Students.
