Sigma Tau Delta/English Department Scholarship

The Eastern Montana College (now MSU Billings) branch of Sigma Tau Delta, the international English honor society, was chartered in 1983. Soon after, the branch began raising funds to sponsor a textbook scholarship for one English major each year, beginning with one $100 scholarship a year in 1988 and gradually growing to two $500 scholarships in 2012. That growth was made possible by the branch’s major fundraiser, the Writers Roundup, a book sale and signing held each year featuring local and regional authors, who sell their books and donate a portion of their proceeds to Sigma Tau Delta.
