Sigma Tau Delta/Melissa Morgan Memorial Endowed Scholarship
Melissa Ann Morgan was a vibrant and enthusiastic member of the MSU Billings branch of Sigma Tau Delta, the international English honor society, which she joined in March 2001. Melissa was an English major and a devoted member of Sigma Tau Delta. Melissa lived in exciting places during her youth such as Germany, traveling with her father and mother to different military posts. She graduated from Billings Senior High School and was attending MSU Billings at the time of her death May 23, 2001. She would have completed her degree after one more semester. In her memory, the branch agreed to honor Melissa’s memory by adding her name to the official scholarship title of the Sigma Tau Delta Endowed Scholarship. Her courage, determination, and optimism are sorely missed but live on in those who receive this award, first granted in 2007.
