Sue Hart Opportunity Endowed Scholarship
The Sue Hart Opportunity Scholarship Endowment was one of the scholarships to benefit from 2013 Wine and Food Festival. During the Friday night silent auction and the “Heads or Tails” event Saturday, donors helped fund the Hart Scholarship. Sue Hart began her tenure in the English department at Eastern Montana College (now MSU Billings) in 1961. She retired at the end of the 2012-2013 academic year. During her storied career, Hart authored many books and articles, earned numerous awards, worked on Public Broadcasting Service (PBS) documentaries, and gave myriad presentations locally and throughout the country. All this is in addition to the time and dedication she bestowed on her students. Sue molded, mentored, and inspired generations of students and graduates as she developed and taught courses in writing and literature, and stayed connected with students years after teaching them. The scholarship endowment is a fitting tribute to this beloved professor. The first scholarship was awarded in academic year 2014-2015.
