Taisei Techno
Since its foundation about a half-century ago, Taisei Techno has been expanding its horizon with technology and wisdom. The evolution of electronics technology brings a new horizon to their life. Taisei, a Japanese based company, developed wind turbines in the hopes to see them used worldwide and contribute to the conservation of the earth’s environment.
In an effort to see how their wind turbines would operate in a variety of climates and to promote wind energy technology, Taisei partnered with MSU Billings to provid a wind turbine to the City College. This was the first wind turbine built by Taisei to be installed in the USA. Taisei also established the Taisei Endowed Scholarship at MSU Billings to provide scholarship funding to students enrolled in the Sustainable Energy program of study at City College. The first scholarship was awarded in academic year 2011-2012.
In 2019, after the Sustainable Energy program was discontinued, Taisei redirected its support of MSU Billings students toward those studying environmental science and environmental studies.
Impact
“Thank you very much for considering me for the Taisei Endowed Scholarship. There are a lot of expenses involved with going to college full-time and your generosity is greatly appreciated. Because of foundations like yours, I am better able to afford college… The vision and investment in the future of wind energy is a benefit to us all. Clean renewable sources of energy are our future. It will be a rewarding experience to be involved with this developing field. Thank you!” — David H., Sustainable Energy Technician major
