Uta Mae Satre City College Undergraduate Endowed Scholarship

Uta Mae Satre passed away August 19, 2000, at age 94. She left a bequest to Montana State University Billings Foundation to be used for student scholarships. The MSU Billings Foundation Board of Trustees unanimously approved these scholarship funds to be used for the College of Technology (now City College at MSU Billings) students and be appropriately named the Uta Mae Satre City College Undergraduate Endowed Scholarship. The first scholarships were awarded in academic year 2004-2005.

Impact

“Thank you for the Uta Mae Satre City College Undergraduate Endowed Scholarship. For as long as I can remember, I’ve wanted to go to college and do something important with my life. From a fairly young age I knew that I would have to earn the means of making that dream a reality on my own. My family has either been in debt or living month to month for most of my life and I eventually came to realize that I didn’t want that for myself… The opportunity to receive a scholarship will aid me in all of my future endeavors as I push through my upcoming college semesters.” — Cheyenne P., Nursing major
