Yellowstone County Tavern Association Endowed Scholarship

Yellowstone County Tavern Association Endowed Scholarship

The Yellowstone County Tavern Association was formed in the 1950s as an associate of the statewide group, The Montana Tavern Association. The YCTA’s main purpose was to lend Yellowstone County’s support to the MTA in its goal of helping members in the promotion of trade and the recommendation of regulations that would benefit not only the industry, but also the citizens of Montana. This was done in no small part by cooperation with originally the Montana Liquor Control Board, and subsequently the Department of Revenue Liquor Division. The Yellowstone County Tavern Association continues to share in the mission statement of the Montana Tavern Association and all of its members, and that is “To preserve and enhance the hospitality industry,” along with its own mission which is “to provide, promote and maintain the hospitality industry with a commitment to the community for whom we serve.” The YCTA demonstrates commitment to our county by providing financial support for a variety of not-for-profit organizations. Some of the more notable ones include: the annual fireworks show for the Fourth of July; provided smoke vision helmets for the Fire Department at a cost of $11,000 each; Montana Meth Project; Tumbleweed; and the Boys and Girls Club. So, it is with great honor and pride that the Yellowstone County Tavern Association has established the Yellowstone County Tavern Association Scholarship Endowment with MSU Billings which will provide an annual scholarship to a deserving candidate from Yellowstone County. The first scholarship was awarded for academic year 2015-2016.
